In line with efforts to improve safety standards, enhance staff preparedness in emergency situations, and institutionalize a culture of accident prevention, a training course entitled “Proper Use of Fire Extinguishers and Principles of Fire Response” was held on 22 February 2026 (4 Esfand 1404) at the Mahshahr Campus of Amirkabir University of Technology.

The course was organized in collaboration with the Central Laboratory and attended by all campus personnel. Participants were introduced to various types of fire extinguishers, their specific applications based on fire classification categories, and the correct methods of operation. The instructional segment emphasized the four fundamental steps of extinguisher use: pulling the safety pin, aiming properly at the base of the fire, squeezing the handle, and applying a sweeping motion.

In addition, key considerations were addressed, including assessing the situation prior to attempting fire suppression, maintaining composure during emergencies, promptly notifying emergency response units, and prioritizing personal safety. The practical component of the program provided participants with hands-on experience in operating firefighting equipment in a controlled field setting.

The implementation of this training program represents an effective step toward strengthening organizational preparedness in responding to emergency situations. The continued and systematic delivery of similar programs remains on the institutional agenda.
