Description of test
Almost all covalently bonded compounds, whether organic or inorganic, absorb different frequencies of electromagnetic radiation in the infrared region of the spectrum. IR spectroscopy is a well-known method for identifying materials based on the vibration of the atoms that make up molecules. This method is used as a powerful and developed method for determining the structure and measurement of chemical species. This method is also mainly used to identify organic compounds.

Sample preparation
Samples are solid or liquid. Samples should be thin and slightly thick. If the sample is thick, the percentage of IR passage decreases.
Powder samples: About 5 to 15 mg with about 400 mg of KBr is taken as a tablet.
Granular samples: They are prepared into a film, either dissolved in a solvent or placed between two glasses and then melted on a hot plate.
Liquid samples: A drop of liquid is placed between two KBr or NaCl tablets.
