The Islamic World Science and Technology Monitoring and Citation Center (ISC) has released the results of the 2025 World University Rankings, according to which 76 universities from Iran have been placed among the top 2,749 universities in the world. In this context, while consolidating its position among the top 10 universities in the country, Amirkabir University of Technology succeeded in securing the first place among Iranian universities in the “Innovation” indicator by achieving the rank of 774.

 According to the Public Relations Department of Amirkabir University of Technology, based on this report, the 2025 assessment included 2,749 universities from 115 countries and 6 continents. Iran’s share in this list has increased from 72 universities last year to 76 universities, which indicates the growing trend of the presence of the country’s universities in international arenas.

 The ISC world ranking system, which began its operations in 2018, evaluates the performance of educational institutions based on valid international data without relying on the self-reporting of universities. This system has now become one of the credible references for scientific policy-making and charting the path of university development, especially in Islamic countries.

 According to the announced results, the University of Tehran, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Iran University of Medical Sciences, Sharif University of Technology, Amirkabir University of Technology, Tarbiat Modares University, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad were recognized as the top 10 universities in Iran.

 In the innovation ranking section, Amirkabir University of Technology had a brilliant performance and achieved the rank of 774 among only five Iranian universities present in the list of the best in the world. After Amirkabir University of Technology, Sharif University of Technology (rank 804), the University of Tehran (rank 1138), Tarbiat Modares University (rank 1143), and Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences (rank 1432) were placed in the subsequent positions.

 Achieving the first rank in innovation in the country indicates the strategic position of Amirkabir University of Technology in technology development, commercialization of research achievements, and effective interaction with the industry; an achievement that is the result of this university’s special focus in recent years on research and technological activities with the approach of “new generation universities.”
