Scientific–Educational Visit of First-Year Middle School Students to University Innovation and Specialized Facilities

As part of academic guidance programs and in order to familiarize students with scientific and university environments, a group of first-year middle school students from Najabat Non-Profit Girls’ School visited the Innovation Center, the Central Laboratory, and the equipment available in the plastics workshop of the Mahshahr unit of Amir Kabir University of Technology in Mahshahr on Saturday, 25 Bahman 1404 (Iranian calendar). This program was organized with the aim of fostering scientific motivation, introducing academic disciplines, increasing awareness of the practical applications of science in industry, and supporting students in choosing their future educational paths. During the visit, experts and officials of the respective centers introduced the laboratory and workshop facilities and equipment, and provided explanations regarding research activities, laboratory processes, and applications of polymer and plastics industries in various fields. The visit also emphasized the role of universities in fulfilling their social responsibility and maintaining effective engagement with schools and the wider community. University officials highlighted the importance of promoting science among younger generations and described such programs as part of the university’s social responsibility and its support for students’ academic guidance. Students were given the opportunity to become closely acquainted with scientific and research environments, ask their questions, and gain a more realistic understanding of the university atmosphere and of technical and engineering fields. The visit was conducted in a safe, educational, and well-structured environment and was well received by the students.
